Feral Goat Hunting from Start to Finish

Before the hunt

For this hunting experience you will need 3–5 days in total.

This hunt can take place on two different islands – Molat or Plavnik, depending on availability, weather conditions, and logistics.

For Molat, you arrive in Zadar Airport and continue by transfer and ferry to the island.
For Plavnik, you arrive in Zagreb Airport and continue by car and short boat transfer. Total travel time from Zagreb to the hunting area is around 3 hours (drive + boat combined).

Both islands offer similar hunting conditions with strong populations of feral goats and wild boar, but access and logistics differ slightly.

The best hunting period is during stable weather conditions, especially for boat-based stalking along the coastline.

Day 1

Upon arrival in either Zadar (Molat option) or Zagreb (Plavnik option), you are met by your guide and transferred towards the hunting area.

For Molat, the journey continues by road to Zadar port, followed by a ferry ride to the island.
For Plavnik, the transfer goes directly from Zagreb by car towards the coast, followed by a short boat transfer to the island.

The journey itself is part of the experience, offering a mix of continental landscapes, Adriatic coastline, and island approaches.

Once we arrive, we settle into the accommodation and go through the hunting briefing. We discuss animal movement patterns, terrain structure, weather influence, and the hunting strategy for the coming days.

In the evening, we enjoy a traditional Croatian dinner with local seafood, meat dishes, and wine. The atmosphere is relaxed and focused on preparation for the hunt ahead.

Day 2 – 4

The hunt starts early in the morning, usually before sunrise. Each day is adapted to weather conditions and animal movement.

When conditions allow, the main method is boat-based stalking. We depart 1 to 1.5 hours before sunrise and slowly cruise along the coastline, glassing rocky slopes for feral goats descending to drink seawater. Once located, the boat is anchored and the stalk continues on foot through steep coastal terrain. Morning hunts usually finish around 10:00 AM.

Midday is used for rest, recovery, and a proper meal.

In the evening, we head out again approximately 2 hours before sunset. This is often the most active period, with goats moving between feeding and bedding areas. After sunset, we return to the lodge.

Wild boar hunting is conducted from high seats. Hunters are positioned 1.5 hours before sunset and remain in place into the night depending on activity.

When boat hunting is not possible due to weather, the system changes to inland stalking. Goats are then hunted on foot, typically on higher ground where they stay during the day. A packed lunch is carried, and the rhythm of the day remains similar with morning and evening sessions.

After the hunt

After the hunt is successfully completed, the focus shifts to relaxation and enjoyment of the island environment.

Trophies are prepared for transport and all logistics are handled by the team. Evenings are spent in a relaxed atmosphere with traditional food, storytelling, and time spent overlooking the sea.

For Molat, departure goes back via ferry to Zadar.
For Plavnik, return transfer goes back towards Zagreb.

Both options offer a perfect combination of wild island hunting and a smooth return through some of the most beautiful parts of Croatia.
